Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)

When General Electric decided to build the Factory of the Future, they needed a way to store work in process for the machined engine parts.  Capnetix founder worked with a major systems integrator to develop the database application for storing and retrieving materials, the material handling system that moved the parts, and the communications required for other systems to either "push" carriers in for storage, or "pull" carriers out for transport to the next operation.

A similar methodology has long been utilized in distribution centers.  Now, on a much smaller, lower volume prototype scale with random access robotic handling of material with multiple 3d printers.
